The Jawaharlal Nehru Medical College and hospital established in 1962 has been ranked in top 15 Medical colleges in India and presently ranked 22 among medical colleges by NIRF. College has 26 Departments and 3 Centres. The Faculty consists of 226 qualified and experienced teachers. The hospital provides quality specialized patient care at nominal cost. The Jawaharlal Nehru Medical College has been ranked15th in the Medical Category, by National Institutional Ranking Framework, MHRD, Govt. of India. The Jawaharlal Nehru Medical College Hospital is a 1269 bedded tertiary care hospital which is providing affordable Medical Care to all sections of society especially to the economically weaker sections. In the year 2021-22, a total of 4,26,070 patients were consulted in 26 OPDs. Addiction Treatment Facility (ATF) at District JNMC Medical Collage Aligarh is being running July 2025, as part of the program implemented by the National Drug Dependence Treatment Centre (NDDTC), AIIMS New Delhi under the support and supervision of Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment, Government of India. Through this initiative, NDDTC provides drug treatment services for all types of drug users in keeping with the established standards of care and treatment. It has dedicated outpatient services to provide care to patients with substance use problems by trained health professionals. Additionally, the ATF team is involved in various community-based activities to improve awareness. Through this centre, treatment services are provided including: Pharmacological treatment, psychosocial interventions- support and counselling services .The medications are provided free of cost to the public and the expenditures are borne by the Government of India under the scheme. To curb the usage of drugs among the people of District Aligarh and provide continuity of care to its patients. ATF is adamant to help its patients in every possible way. For better insight and provision of comprehensive treatment to its patients, ATF has a dedicated team of mental health professionals and including Medical Officer, Psychiatrists, Counsellor, Nurse and Data Manager.
